| In
the LNG process,
hydrocarbon gases
(C1-C4) need to
be cooled down in
a large multi tube
heat exchanger with
several passes.To
ensure an efficient
heat transfer, the
gas-liquid mixture
needs to be homogeneously
dispersed over the
whole pipe cross
section so that
each pipe of the
heat exchanger gets
the same amount
of gas and liquid.
A
static mixer maintains
the dispersion in
the conical pipe,
changing from feed
pipe to the inlet
of the heat exchanger.
This effective mixing
and dispersion in
the conical pipe
is effected in a
patented conical
SMV Sulzer mixer.
Customer
advantages
- Efficient
mixing of gases
with liquids
- Reduction
of the heat exchanger
size
- Mal-distribution
in the heat exchanger
is avoided
- Stable
flow pattern over
the conical section
is maintained
